Day 2

Start your day with a full breakfast at the hotel before you board the motorcoach with your local guide for a fascinating and informative driving tour along the fames Ten Mile Ocean Drive. Travel along Bellevue Avenue, the backbone of Newport's Gilded Age, where during the late 19th and early 20th centuries America's wealthiest industrialists, like the Vanderbilt family, built lavish, European-inspired summer homes. These enormous estates, which they modestly called "cottages," transformed Newport into the ultimate summer playground for the elite. Following your scenic drive, you will visit the captivating Green Animals Topiary Gardens. As the oldest topiary garden in the nation, this enchanting seven-acre estate overlooks Narragansett Bay and is home to over 80 meticulously sculpted topiary animals and geometric shapes, alongside beautiful formal flowerbeds, fruit trees, and herb gardens. Enjoy time to leisurely meander through the picturesque property. Following your visit, you will have free time to browse Newport and have lunch on your own and at your expense. Next, you board the motorcoach for a stop at Newport Vineyards Winery for a tour and tasting. Enjoy a tour led by a wine educator to learn about the history of this over 100-acre preserved farmland, its winemaking process, and the on-site brewery, concluding with a tasting of a select few of their distinguished wines. Dinner this evening will be on your own and at your expense in Newport. The remainder of the night is yours to enjoy the hotel amenities or even stroll along the waterfront.

Day 3

Enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel before you check-out and depart for Rosecliff Mansion to experience and explore the 30th Annual Newport Flower Show. Commissioned by silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs and designed by the renowned architect Stanford White, Rosecliff is a masterpiece of the Gilded Age. It was modeled after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles, and is instantly recognizable by its striking white terra-cotta exterior and beautiful ocean views. Its cinematic beauty is so iconic that it has served as the backdrop for numerous films, including The Great Gatsby (1974) and True Lies. Just as pearls symbolize elegance and sophistication, this show themed "Pearls of Newport" will feature exquisite floral exhibits, stunning botanical arts, and horticulture displays that blend the mansion's historic elegance with modern creativity. The theme will also connect naturally to the city's coastal identity and maritime history. Stroll the grounds and take in the beauty and fragrance that abounds. Late morning, you depart for home with meal and rest stops at your expense and as needed along the way.
