DAY 1
Are you a history buff looking for a day of mesmerizing fun? Then this Wolf tour is the perfect match for you. Join Wolf's Bus Lines for a day full of history, background, and overall mind-blowing information. You will begin your day in Washington, D.C., where you will enjoy a guided tour of the Lincoln Cottage, a historic site and museum where Abraham Lincoln lived. There, he made some of his most critical decisions about freedom, the Union, and the presidency. Lincoln's experiences at the Cottage provided him and those he influenced with new and diverse perspectives on issues of freedom, justice, and humility. Next, you will have time to enjoy lunch on your own. Following lunch, you will depart for admission into the Clara Barton Missing Soldier Museum. After working on battlefields and in hospitals of the civil war, Clara Barton found a new calling in the early months of 1865. Working with survivors, Barton endeavored to open a Missing Soldiers Office, to offer her service of giving information to families of the Union soldiers. With approval from President Lincoln, she began the immense task of tracking down those who disappeared. Following your heartfelt visit to the Missing Soldier's Museum, you will then depart for Frederick, MD, where you will have admission into the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. A historic education institution located in Frederick, MD, the museum focuses on the medical, surgical, and nursing practices during the American Civil War. The museum is the premier center for the study and research of medical innovation during the American Civil War. Following the museum tour, you will then depart for your last stop of your historically-fantastic day, the Farnsworth House. Located in the historical town of Gettysburg, PA, the Farnsworth is named in honor of Brigadier General Elon John Farnsworth, who led an ill-fated charge after the failure of Pickett's charge, claiming the lives of Farnsworth and 65 of his men. End your day at the Farnsworth with a savory dinner included. Following your dinner, you will depart Gettysburg and head home, with memories of world history, passion, and memories.
