DAY 2

Wake to a hearty breakfast included at the hotel before you board the motorcoach for a day of touring. Your first stop is at Lively Run Dairy, one of the longest operating goat dairies in the U.S. Learn about the history of Lively Run Dairy, enjoy a tasting of goat milk and cow's milk cheeses and hear about the process of making their products. As time permits, take time to browse their store. Next, how about a little wine with that cheese? You are off to Knapp Winery for a tasting and lunch included in your visit. A pioneer of the Finger Lakes wine region, Knapp Winery has been producing wines for 40 years. Knapp had planted some of the first vinifera grapes along the shores of Cayuga Lake and was the first winery to vinify the grape variety Cabernet Franc. The Knapp estate encompasses 65 acres of land of which 45 are currently cultivated for growing estate Reisling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Catawba and more. Your day continues with a scenic cruise on Cayuga Lake, the longest and second deepest of the Finger Lakes and many of Cornell's industries pump in the cold lake water and use it to cool machinery. Sit back and enjoy a leisurely cruise with panoramic views of the landscape. Once back at the dock, you board the motorcoach and return to the hotel late afternoon. The remainder of the night offers free time to explore the downtown area and grab a bite to eat on your own and at your expense. A short walk from the Hotel Ithaca is Commons, a four-block, pedestrian only section featuring unique stores and inviting restaurants.

DAY 3

Once again, a hearty breakfast is included at the hotel before you check out and depart for one last stop in the area at Buttermilk Falls. Buttermilk takes its name from its centerpiece, the classical 165 feet foaming cascade of water. The water mixes, twists and turns over the rock, looking like creamy buttermilk as it reaches the bottom. It is the largest of 10 falls along the creek. Your final stop of the trip is at Corning Museum of Glass to enjoy a self-guided experience and lunch on your own and at your expense. The Museum cares for and displays the world's largest collection of art and historical glass. Over 50,000 objects representing more than 3,500 years of history are included in the Museum's collection and range from the glass portrait of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh to contemporary sculpture made in glass. At the conclusion of your visit, you depart for home with a dinner stop at your expense along the way.
