DAY 1

Today is the day to discover more about the United States Capitol and the White House with this tour to Washington, DC. (Please make sure that you wear comfortable shoes because there will be a lot of walking today.) Upon arrival, you meet your local guide who will take you to the Capitol Visitor Center on Capitol Hill. The Visitor Center is nearly 580,000 square feet and is approximately three quarters the size of the Capitol itself. The entire facility is located underground on the east side so as not to distract from the appearance of the Capitol. Features include an exhibition gallery highlighting the House & Senate while in-session, orientation theatres, a cafeteria and gift shop. Next, you will have to complete a required security and screening process before entering the United States Capitol for a guided tour. The most recognized symbol of democratic government in the world, the U.S. Capitol has housed Congress since 1800 and is one of the most imposing public buildings in the world. The Capitol is where Congress meets to write the laws of our nation and where the presidents are inaugurated. Its ceilings are decorated with historic images, and its halls are lined with statuary and paintings representing great events and people in our nation's history. After the tour, you will have a LATE lunch included at a local restaurant. (You WILL NOT stop on the way to DC, so plan accordingly by bringing breakfast or snack items along with you). Entrée Choices for lunch are as follows: Roasted Salmon, Roasted Chicken Breast, Shrimp Penne Pasta or Vegetarian Seasonal Selection. (If you have not already made your selection, please contact Wolf's to provide your choice.) Following lunch, you will explore the White House Visitor Center where you can participate in an interactive touchscreen tour of the White House, view over 90 artifacts from the White House collection, shop at the White House Historical Association retail store and view the 14-minute film, "White House: Reflections From Within". Then, stop for a photo op of the White House followed by a Scandal Tour of Lafayette Park. Enjoy a fun and intriguing walking tour as you listen to scandalous stories of Lafayette Park happenings including intense stories of scandal, assassination, spies, history and architecture in America's most historic locale. You then continue to The National World War I Memorial. The American flag was raised over the World War I Memorial for the first time on April 16, 2021, at the formal unveiling of the memorial that honors the 4.7 million Americans who served their nation in WWI, including 116,516 who made the supreme sacrifice. At the conclusion of your visit, you say farewell to your guide and depart for home.
