DAY 1

Your day begins in Annapolis, Maryland where the city's well preserved cobblestone streets and colonial spires meet the maritime flavor and white sails of the Chesapeake Bay. Upon arrival, you will board the boat for a relaxing cruise to the village of St. Michaels. While on your cruise, enjoy an entertaining and informative narrative about the Chesapeake Bay and its surroundings by your vessel's captain. Your cruise from Annapolis to St. Michael's is 10:00 a.m. to approximately 12:15-12:30 p.m. St. Michaels is a quaint waterfront town that offers a blend of history, culture and maritime flavor. The town dates back to the mid-1600's when it served as a trading post for area tobacco farmers and trappers. You will have approximately 3 hours of free time for lunch on your own to savor the flavor of Maryland's famous crab creations, browse the various galleries and nautical inspired shops, and have the opportunity to explore the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum where admission is included for a self-guided tour. St. Michaels is the center of Maryland's historic and picturesque Eastern Shore. This charming seaside resort town reflects its colonial past, as many of its homes date back to the early 1800's when British land agent James Braddock purchased 20 acres and deeded 58 lots. Today, surrounding St. Mary's Square, the historic center of St. Michaels, is a collage of handsome churches, manicured colonial and Victorian homes, and pleasant southern culture. Take a look back at St. Michaels' maritime history through interactive exhibits, original artifacts, and visual arts all housed in the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Become involved as you get your hands wet exploring a waterman's shanty or climb to the top of an 1879 lighthouse for a captivating view of the harbor. At the conclusion of your time at St. Michaels, you will board your boat at 3:00 p.m. for a return cruise to Annapolis. You will arrive back to Annapolis by 5:30 p.m. to meet the bus and depart for home with a dinner stop on the way home at your expense.
